Yesterday was my youngest daughter’s birthday. We decided to throw her a little shelter in place party. We cut flowers in the garden and set a nice table outside on the deck. We used embroidered tablecloths and French fajance plates found on trips to Mexico and Denmark, heirloom silver gifted to me from my grandfather and small cups for votives made by ceramicist Anne Black in Copenhagen. The chandelier is from Ikea and the two rattan chairs in the background were the first two pieces I bought when my husband and I had bought our first home together in Skovshoved, Denmark. I love to surround myself and my family with beautiful objects that all tell a story or hold memories from different times in our life.
